EVERY DAY

The rhythm of a day

The complete menu is prepared in a home made style, including the desserts, and in accordance with Ayurveda cooking.

Anila cooks 4 to 6 main dishes a day, with vegetarian and meat options.

  1. 2

    Starters

A taste of our street food, all prepared by Saisha.

  2. 4–6

    Main courses

With two hand made breads or a portion of exquisitely aromatic basmati rice.

  3. 1–2

    Desserts

A fusion of Indian and western styles.

“The spices shift a little each time. So the same dish is never quite the same dish.”
Vikram Khanna
“You can read the whole menu, but what you'll eat is what I bring you.”

Spices from India

We painstakingly select the finest spices and mix them to produce the most fragrant and flavourful food possible: cardamom, cumin, turmeric, garam masala, mustard seeds, fenugreek and curry leaf, all carefully picked.

  • Vegetarian cooking

Half the dishes of the day are vegetarian, never a single afterthought option.

  • Plant based

Black lentils cooked for 24 hours, chickpeas, mung beans, red beans, potato, spinach and cauliflower with peppers.

  • Homemade cooking

Everything made the same day, in small quantities, following ayurvedic cooking.

A small room, by choice

The size of the room is a decision, not a limitation. By serving few tables at a time, the chef prepares every dish from scratch, attends to each table personally and holds the same standard from the first service to the last. It is also what allows us to know our guests by name and to remember what each of them enjoys.

“We know the names of the people who walk through our door, who their families are, and what they like to eat. To us they are not customers. They are an extended family.”
Anila Khanna

About Us

Flavours of India. It’s a restaurant with a difference. When you come in you just don’t walk into a restaurant, you walk into our home. You are greeted by one of the family members usually the chef herself. Most of service too is carried out by the family members themselves to bring you an experience of Indian hospitality. We don’t offer a menu but a more personalized touch, the chef herself comes to each table to explain the dishes of the day.

Just a few select starters, main course dishes and desserts are on offer. But, all these are made by painstakingly selecting the finest of the spices and mixing them to produce the most authentically fragrant and flavorful food as possible. The complete menu is prepared in a ‘Home Made Style’ including the deserts and in accordance with the Ayurveda cooking. That’s one reason you will always enjoy the same dish time and time again as the spices themselves vary a bit in their tastes giving it a slightly different flavor every time.

Each day we prepare two different starters which are a representation of our street food, four to five main course dishes and one to two types of desserts. All of them with their individualist flavours and aromas. Our main dishes are accompanied either with two hand made breads or a portion of exquisitely aromatic basamati rice. The deserts are a fusion of Indian and western styles.

To enable us to give you this unique experience we request all our clients to kindly book in advance and adhere to our timings as this helps us to maintain the quality and hospitality standards. We look forward serving you all at our place, Flavours.

THE FAMILY

The restaurant was never the plan

Saisha's friends went on about Anila's cooking until, in March 2019, we opened Flavours of India with about five thousand euros and limited seating. We have never advertised.

There are three of them and there are still three of them. Anila cooks, the family welcomes you, and there is no staff between the kitchen and your table. They have maintained limited seating since 2019. They have never paid for an advertisement: the people who find them come because somebody told them about it, and those people have left nearly six hundred reviews.
